Ethereum co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, Ideas on how to share Elon Musk’s goal of going to Mars is a good thing for humanity.
“This is a serious attempt to unite humanity around an open border and a positive-sum goal (man vs. nature rather than man vs. man), which reduces our chances of creating unfriendly AI to quickly beat other teams
His response on Twitter was to executive director Alexey Guzey new science.
The obsession with Mars is good. This is a serious attempt to unite humanity around an open border and a positive-sum goal (human versus nature rather than human versus human), which reduces our chances of creating unfriendly AI to quickly beat other teams.

Guzey shared Elon Musk’s January 2015 tweet about funding AI safety research.
Guzey points out that Elon Musk is often criticized for his obsession with Mars, but those who criticize him ignore that Elon Musk has funded AI safety programs, catalyzed AI, and in his many interviews promoted this topic.
Vitalik Buterin believes an obsession with Mars could unite humanity and prevent dangerous artificial intelligence.
Uniting humanity around Mars will definitely help humanity as a whole. Buterin believes this will reduce our chances of creating unfriendly AI.
I think he might be right. If we all come together, we won’t be competing to see who can create the deadliest AI, weapon or anything.
Elon Musk on building a civilization on Mars.
Elon Musk has said this in many interviews, including my podcast in July.
I think sharing is important because we are in a phase of civilization where we need to put aside our differences and come together.
“Well, first of all, I think it’s very important to emphasize that What really matters is getting a lot of people to Mars and enough equipment to make a city self-sufficient. I mean, of course, I think whoever comes first will be famous, but from a civilizational standpoint, it doesn’t matter. “
“What we really need is to build a self-sufficient city on Mars. That’s the critical threshold, we need to do that, and civilization still has the ability to do so. And the ability to do so may end. It may be because of the first It ended with three world wars, and it might end with the gradual disappearance of civilization.”
“Arc of Civilizations — Civilizations on Earth do not have a continuous upward trajectory. They rise, peak, and then fall.”
Vitrine Buterin is right. So does Elon Musk.
