‘He Should Have Retired About Five Years Ago’: Paige Spiranac Makes Bold Comments About Legendary Golf Broadcaster’s Retirement

Sir Nick Faldo retired from the golf analyst recently. Since he was the CBS golf lead analyst for the PGA Tour coverage for the last 16 years, many golf fans were disappointed when he retired. However, it was not the case with former professional golfer Paige Spiranac.

“I was a big Faldo fan but I feel like he should have retired about five years ago.” the 29-year-old said. “Because he just… I don’t know if he just lost interest in it,” she further explained. “Maybe just getting a bit senile.” Spiranac expressed her thoughts about Sir Faldo’s retirement through the latest episode of her podcast, ‘Playing a Round with Paige Renee.’

The professional golfer turned golf analyst had chosen the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic as his retirement venue. He received an emotional farewell from his colleagues and CBS crew members then. Notably, most golf fans got teary-eyed by watching their favorite golf analyst cry on TV.

However, Spiranac did not have the same emotions as others. In a Twitter video she posted then, she expressed how she didn’t feel Sir Faldo was at his best in the last couple of years.

Paige Spiranac explained her reason for not being sad about Sir Faldo’s retirement

“He just started making these really weird comments,” Spiranac said in her podcast. “I don’t know what he was trying to do,” she added. “He was trying to appeal to the millennials or like Gen Z but it just like wasn’t hitting right.”

The 1-time Catus Tour champion also added that she liked the former NBC golf analyst. Notably, Feherty is one of the few golf analysts to join the new LIV Golf Invitational Series. He started commentating for the LIV Series since its event, which was held at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster.

According to Sir Nick Faldo, he and his wife, Lindsay De Marco, bought a ranch in Montana. And they have decided to move there to renovate it, which they named, ‘Faldo Farm.’
