Field Set For AIG Womens Open | LPGA

The final spots have been filled. On Monday at North Berwick, the classic links course just a 20-minute drive from Muirfield and the home club of former AIG Women’s Open champion Catriona Matthew, the last qualifiers for golf’s final major were established.

Twelve sports were left at the beginning of the week. When the sun set on East Lothian on Monday, those slots were filled. The final qualifiers were:

Liz Young – a 39-year-old LET veteran and mom on tour.

Ingrid Lindblad – the Swedish amateur who plays at LSU and who lit up the leaderboard at the US Women’s Open.

Nicole Broch Estrup – a 29-year-old Epson Tour graduate with four professional wins and dual membership in the LPGA Tour and the LET.

Lauren Coughlin – a 29-year-old, four-year LPGA Tour veteran and Epson Tour graduate playing in her third major of 2022.

Diksha Dagar – a 21-year-old from India who is hearing impaired and became the first golfer in history to play in both the Olympic Games and the Deaflympics.

Ursala Wikstrom – a 42-year-old LET veteran from Finland who represented her country at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Hayley Davis – a 29-year-old Czech graduate of the LET Access Series, with one career professional win.

Janie Jackson – a 28-year-old Epson Tour graduate from Huntsville, Alabama who is one of the longest hitters on the LPGA Tour.

Jennifer Chang – a 22-year-old from Raleigh, North Carolina in her second full year on the LPGA Tour. She posted a top-10 at this year’s KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Peiyun Chien – a 31-year-old from Chinese Taipei in her fifth season on the LPGA Tour and looking for her first top-20 finish this year.

Celine Herbin – a 39-year-old Frenchwoman with two wins on the LET and dual membership on the LET and LPGA Tour.

Aditi Ashok – a 24-year-old from India who is a three-time winner on the LET and was the darling of the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

History will be made when these and the rest of the contestants tee off in the first women’s major championship ever contested at historic Muirfield on Thursday.
